So I cant sleep... what better to do than write some blogs. I recently just joined iReport with CNN. I have always wanted to be a new anchor or journalist on the road, so this is kinda cool for me. Yeah, im a big fat loser. I know. Well, here are my 3 iReport news stories. Enjoy...
GREAT MEMORIES
Remembering the greats and the memories

When I was growing up. My brother and I fought like a bunch of vultures vying for the same piece of meat. Always tooth and nail, all the time. The one thing we could always agree on was baseball.
We made it our childhood goal to collect all the major rookie cards. We saves all of our allowance and watched every game and we were just hooked. Even now as im an adult, my card collection astonishes me and its in mint condition well worth over 100K.
One of my great memories was the affinity my brother and I had for Cal Ripkin Jr. Donruss, the card company released 5,000 Gold Series Autographed cards by Cal and I remember saving $30 of allowance to buy the box. However, there were only 5K ever made and there were tons of players and different box sets. I stood there with David for a good 45 minutes grabbing different boxes and wondering which one had Cal in it.
I finally found a box that I believed with all of me had Cal in it. I grabbed the box, paid the lady my $30 which was ALOT of money back then when your a kid. We ran outside and feverishly opened the box.
Got down to the last 5 cards and I started balling my eyes out. I knew it wasnt to be. Cal was elusive and it would take forever to save up another $30 on a whim that I may find him.
THE VERY LAST CARD....
Was Cal. Im not pulling your chain, not making an elaborate story. This was a true genuine childhood moment of pure luck and joy. We started screaming our heads off bloody murder. We got CAL!!!!! WE GOT CAL!!!
We got a bullet proof case as they called them, for the card and would share it each night for whos room it got to be in.
This was one good story of many and altho Im too young to have seen them live I always had love for Honus Wagner, The Babe, Willy Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams and all the greats even leading up to the greats of my time.
You'll never find my baseball cards in the spokes of a bicycle.
DO WE NEED MORE CARS???
The Auto industry experiences worst decline in 15 years

Ok, to get right down to brass tacks here. We dont need more cars. We should be thinking more conservatively about the amount of cars we already have on the road and how we can in some way recycle those into further use that is more economical and environmentally friendly. I drive a mercedes, not the most practical or fuel efficient, but i got the car when gas was under $2 a gallon and to be honest, spending money on gas was not as big of a deal as it is now. Since then, i have used an electric car as well as a veggie oil converted diesel hybrid van.
For speed, the mercedes and the van do it. For economics and cleanliness the electric car wins. Comfortability would have to go to the mercedes and electric car since the electric gives you that "motorcycle/jeep feel of no doors and the wind whipping past you on a sunny day"
With gas prices, rent rising, food being outrageous I can see why a vehicle is the last thing on peoples minds. In fact more of my friends are carpooling, biking and even walking. Thats probably the most healthy, fuel efficient and economic as well as environmentally friendly thing to do there is. Back to the Caveman days ha.

BATTLE OF THE BUD
Do you really care if a European company owns it?
Personally, i know there are alot of people who will disagree with me, and call me a traitor... mainly rednecks. Well thats cool, but I personally could care less who owns budweiser or not. I drive past their brewery all the time and I grew up on an island in the pacific that consumes so much bud that we even have our own Hawaiian labels and guess what... NOONE GAVE 2 "YOU KNOW WHATS", as long as you get drunk. Im speaking for the majority of the people I know because I heard about the sell off, and while drinking beers over the 4th, I asked if anyone actually even gave a shit. Guess what... not one person did. I saw how one guy said "Man... budweiser is like ford" If he meant, like Ford for the sake of making crappy beer, like Ford makes crappy vehicles... then yes. It is like Ford and in that case... the car will still "git errrr done" just like the beer will. The heritage of bud being on the low end of beers will not change just because its ownership is changing hands. It will still be good ole budweiser and when you can't afford Guinness, Blue Moon, a nice Heff or whatever your poison is, you will still always be able to count on Bud being your cheap and effective drinking partner. Now after that, youll only have to watch out for the pee pee monster

looks like you had fun doing this :]
This is really cool. And you're not a loser for wanting to be informed with what's going on in the world. I'm a bit of a CNN/BBC World News junkie myself lol. Christiane Amanpour and Anderson Cooper are two of my favorite people in the world lol. Now that might be kinda sad haha.
I liked all your stories and I definitely agree with your opinions on the cars one. Can't wait to read more! :)
car pooling pwns.
haha i saw a bumper sticker with the Ford symbol and at the bottom it said "well at least they circled the problem" haha
